Was Apollo Creed the most important person in Rocky’s career?

I know Mickey trained Rocky from the beginning, but Apollo changed the way Rocky fought and pushed him to become more than just a tough guy who could take punishment. Without Apollo, I’m not sure Rocky beats Clubber Lang or becomes the kind of fighter who could eventually face Drago. Mickey gave Rocky his foundation, but Apollo may have been the one who helped him reach his highest level. What do you think?

Apollo definitely changed Rocky’s style, but I don’t think that makes him the most important person in Rocky’s career. Mickey shaped Rocky before anyone else took him seriously. He taught him how to train, how to take boxing seriously, and how to believe he belonged in the ring with real champions. Apollo helped Rocky reach another level, but Mickey is the reason Rocky ever got to that level in the first place.
